Efoil PDX

Efoil PDX offers private electric hydrofoil (e-foil) lessons on the Willamette River in Portland. It is run by Miles Millar, an Oregon Outfitter trained in CPR, who started the business four years ago and says he has taught over 200 people.

All gear is provided: Fliteboard boards, life vests, helmets and 3 mm wetsuits. The main launch is Willamette Park (6440 SW Beaver Ave). A first lesson usually lasts two hours from put-in to take-out, and battery life depends on the rider's weight and on how much throttle is used.

Three options are offered: a one-hour solo session, a two-hour solo session, or a two-hour session for two riders, with one-on-one instruction first and then time riding together. Return clients who know the area may be able to rent a board at a discounted rate.
