The Sea Monkey Kite Lodge is a kitesurfing and sailing school with its own guest lodge on Ocracoke Island (Outer Banks, North Carolina). Lessons take place on the calm, shallow waters of Pamlico Sound, with sandbars that only appear at low tide and sheltered lagoons.
The school gives private and small-group kitesurfing lessons, private coaching, and sailing lessons with picnic outings. It teaches students of all ages (from 5 to 76 according to the website) and also introduces foiling and winging. Paddleboarding, kayaking and fishing are available at the lodge.
Accommodation includes a four-bedroom, two-bathroom house for groups, rooms (from USD 99 a night off-season) and camping spots for tents or vans (from USD 50 a night), with an outdoor shower and a full kitchen. Spring camp packages are advertised.
