Worldwinds Windsurfing

Worldwinds Windsurfing is a windsurfing school and rental centre inside Padre Island National Seashore at Bird Island Basin, about 20 yards from the Laguna Madre shoreline and roughly 40 minutes from downtown Corpus Christi. The water is flat and shallow with a sandy bottom, and the wind is steady year-round.

Windsurfing lessons run daily, from beginner (100 series) to advanced (400 series). The beginner lesson lasts three hours: one hour of instruction followed by two hours of practice, gear included. The school also teaches wing foiling, with a three-hour beginner lesson and a two-hour intermediate lesson.

It rents windsurf gear, wing foil sets (wing only, board and foil, or the full rig), kayaks and stand up paddleboards. New and used equipment is also sold.

Open 7 days a week, 11 am to 6 pm. The beginner windsurf class starts at 12 pm. Wing foil lessons are booked by phone or email, depending on the wind.
