Surf Maroc

Surf Maroc runs three houses it owns and operates itself, in Taghazout and just south of the village. Amouage is a 26-room oceanfront hotel looking onto three breaks including Anchor Point, with an infinity pool, an ocean-facing gym, a board and wetsuit store room, a spa, a rooftop yoga garden and a restaurant open to the public. The neighbouring Taghazout Villa is a more laid-back guesthouse. Villa Mandala, nine bedrooms of which seven are en suite, is a beachfront yoga retreat centre a few minutes south of Taghazout, within walking distance of Aourir.

The business dates back to 2003 and now carries a 2009-2026 copyright line. Stays come in four shapes: progressive surf coaching with quality equipment provided, guiding for independent surfers, yoga and surf retreats with two ninety-minute sessions a day, and women-only weeks. A room-only rate exists at Amouage. Meals, daily transfers to the breaks around the bay and excursions round out the stays.

The group also runs the Amouage Bar & Kitchen on the seafront; its shop, the Surf Maroc Store, has a listing of its own. The operation is built entirely around surfing and yoga: neither kitesurfing nor wing is taught.

Open all year. Bookings from within Morocco Monday to Sunday, 10am - 6pm; from abroad Monday to Saturday, 9am - 5pm.

At Amouage the spa opens 11am - 7pm and the restaurant-bar 1pm - 9pm, open to the public.
