KitesurfPE

According to its website, KitesurfPE is the oldest kitesurf school in Pernambuco: it has been running since 2010 and presents itself as the only school in the state accredited by the Associação Brasileira de Kitesurf (ABK). Lessons are given by Pedro Silva (Mamu), a former athlete certified and registered with the ABK, who reports more than 17 years of kitesurfing since 2008.

The basic course is made up of 5 lessons of 2 hours. The first two take place on land (usually at Pina beach in Recife, but also at Olinda, Candeias, Itamaracá, Porto de Galinhas or Carneiros), the last three on the water, at low tide and in daytime, usually at Itamaracá or Porto de Galinhas (sometimes Pau Amarelo or Carneiros). Lessons are one-to-one, scheduled around the student's availability, and all equipment, including the mandatory safety gear, is supplied by the school.

Lessons outside Recife, notably at Carneiros, in Paraíba (João Pessoa) or in Alagoas (Maragogi, São Miguel dos Milagres), are charged with a distance-based supplement. A PDF theory manual for the basic course is sold separately.

Land lessons at any time, evenings included; water lessons in daytime and at low tide, by appointment.
