Samos Windsurfing Centre

Samos Windsurfing Centre is a windsurf centre in Kokkari, on the north coast of the island of Samos, Greece. The website describes a spot with daily side-shore thermal wind, usable even without the meltemi thanks to the altitude of Mount Karvounis, and suitable for all levels. The centre was hand-built by its owner, George Sakantaris, who grew up in Kokkari.

The centre runs a pool system: all equipment (sails fully rigged and ready to go, wetsuit, harness and boots included) can be tried at any time, with new equipment every year, wing foils and windsurf foils. Lessons (theory and practice, in English, German, French, Italian or Greek) are run by Rob Horne, an experienced instructor; beginners learn in a sheltered flat-water bay while intermediate and advanced riders, freestyle included, sail in the open sea. An instructor also teaches windsurfing to children from age 10.

The centre also rents SUPs, two-person canoes, kayaks, snorkelling gear and 16 bikes (TREK and GIANT), and has a children's playground. A hotel (Sunrise Beach) is mentioned for accommodation.

Open every day from April to October, from 9.30am until dark (the contact page says it opens from 15 April to 15 November).
