Blackwave Surf School Recco

Blackwave is a surf school founded in 2011 in Recco, on the Ligurian Riviera di Levante east of Genoa. It is run by the sports association ASD Blackwave Association and presents itself as a project around board sports, with an inclusive, progressive method open to all ages and levels.

Surf lessons cover three levels, from beginner (paddling, take-off, turtle roll, reading swells, winds and currents) to independent (bottom and top turns). They are booked according to the swell calendar through the school's app, with an annual membership including insurance. The school also offers skateboard lessons, a summer camp for children, an academy, surf training, surf camps abroad and stand up paddle and kayak tours.

Blackwave runs a surf shop and an equipment rental and storage service (surf, SUP, kayak, boats). It has other bases in Bogliasco and Lido di Camaiore, as well as a surf lodge in Hossegor.
