O'Neill Surf Academy Spain - El Palmar is O'Neill's official surf school in Spain, on El Palmar beach (Vejer de la Frontera, Cadiz). It runs a second school at Roche (Conil de la Frontera), which has its own listing.
Lessons run all year for all levels and ages (minimum 6), in Spanish, English and French: small groups of 4 to 6 students per instructor (2 h) or private lessons (about 1 h 30), with equipment (board, wetsuit or rash vest) and liability insurance included. A session includes about 30 minutes of theory and 1 h 30 in the water, with land balance tools (indo-board, bosu...).
The board fleet includes soft boards for beginners, NSP and Torq epoxy boards for intermediates, and Firewire and Slater Designs shortboards for advanced surfers. The school also runs surf camps, guided paddle outings, yoga and surfskate. Instructors are FES and ISA certified, with licences from the Junta de Andalucia and Vejer town council.
