Patos Surf Escola is a surf school right on Patos beach in Nigrán, in the Rías Baixas, about 12 km from Vigo. The Patos club was founded in 1991 and the school in 1994; it describes itself as one of the first surf and bodyboard schools in Galicia, with a view of the Cíes Islands.
Lessons are given in small groups split by age and level, with qualified instructors. All equipment (wetsuit, board, insurance) is included; the only requirement is being able to swim. The school offers summer and winter courses, adult "afterwork" sessions, private lessons, paddle surf lessons, after-school surf and skate programmes, and multisport summer camps (surf, skate, paddle).
Equipment can also be rented on the beach (surfboard, bodyboard, SUP, wetsuit), and the school runs the Patos Beach House for accommodation from one night.

Prices shown on the website (summer group lessons, equipment included): 1 day EUR 35, 2 days EUR 60, 3 days EUR 85, 5 days EUR 120, 10 days EUR 210. Summer private lesson: EUR 70 (1 day). Winter group lessons: EUR 20 per day, EUR 70 for 4 days. Rental: surfboard or bodyboard EUR 10 per hour; board and wetsuit EUR 15 per hour; SUP and paddle EUR 15 per hour.
