Kite Galicia

Kite Galicia is a kitesurf school founded in 2005 by Justo Fernández Voena, based in the Rías Baixas (Pontevedra province). It chose this coast for its long sandy beaches, favourable wind conditions and the absence of the crowds found at better-known spots.

The school started with kitesurfing, then added wingfoil and, more recently, windsurfing. The website lists: introductory session, individual course, kitefoil, private lesson and friends pack for kitesurf; beginner, progression and wing + hydrofoil for wingfoil; beginner and improvement for windsurf.

Two centres are listed: Kite Galicia Lourido in Poio (Pontevedra ría) and Kite Galicia A Mexilloeira in O Grove. Depending on the weather, lessons move to other beaches in the area named by the school: A Lanzada, Agrelo, Cesantes, Moledo, O Bao (Illa de Arousa), O Vao (Vigo) or Patos.

The school also rents equipment: kite, wing, windsurf, paddle surf and kayak. A club and a second-hand gear section appear on the website.
