Surf in Comporta

Surf in Comporta is a family-run surf school on Carvalhal beach in the Comporta area of the Alentejo. It was founded in 2008 by Ana and Daniel, a local couple and instructors certified by the Portuguese Surfing Federation; Daniel has over 20 years of surfing experience and the team over 17 years of teaching.

Group or private surf lessons last 2 hours and include board, rash vest, wetsuit and sports insurance, for all ages and levels. From September to May a "surf safari" takes experienced surfers to the best spots in the area. The school also offers stand up paddle lessons and tours (1.5 h) at Carvalhal and on the Melides lagoon, SUP-yoga, rental of boards, e-bikes and mountain bikes, a surf shop about 300 m from the beach and a café.
