SYCOD Sand Yacht Club Oostduinkerke

SYCOD, the Sand Yacht Club Oostduinkerke, is one of the largest watersports associations in Belgium: more than 1,200 members, a family clubhouse tucked between the dunes, a bar and a sports team (sportwerking) that runs the activities. It is recognised by the Flemish federation Wind & Watersport Vlaanderen.

The club practises and teaches land sailing (its original discipline), sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, SUP, wingfoiling and surfing. It has a Naish centre, offers weekend courses, private lessons and youth camps (well known in the region), equipment rental, a rescue service during opening hours, and the SYCOD Cup, an annual competition. Joining a camp does not require membership, but members get a reduced rate and priority, and can buy a badge for access to the changing rooms outside opening hours.
