Turun Windsurfer Club (TWC)

Turun Windsurfer Club (TWC) is a windsurfing club founded in 1979 in Turku. It is based on the sandy beaches of Saaronniemi and Kolkka on the island of Ruissalo, on the north side of the Airisto sea area, with a clubhouse near the beach and board storage open all year. Kiteboarding was added to its activities in the early 2000s, along with a little SUP.

The club trains beginners: the introductory course is given in two sessions of 2-3 hours, with all equipment provided, by the club's experienced windsurfers. Once the basics are mastered, members can rent the club's boards. It holds free try-out days in 2026 (6 June and 25 July, noon to 3 pm, with wetsuits lent) and organises national and international races, including Windsurfer LT class races at Saaronniemi.
