Association Bahri

Association Bahri is a Moroccan non-profit devoted to protecting the coastline and raising public awareness, founded in October 2010 by Saad Abid. It is based in Casablanca but works along the whole of the country's coast: beach clean-ups, workshops on marine ecosystems and plastic pollution, and awareness campaigns run with local authorities and companies.

It is the organiser of the Safi Surf Invitational, the contest that put the Ras Lafaa right-hander, south of Safi, back on the international map. The 2025 edition ran from 4 to 7 December 2025 under the aegis of the Royal Moroccan Surfing Federation and in partnership with the OCP group, with sixty athletes from sixteen countries, surf and bodyboard divisions, and a final held at night under floodlights.

The sporting side comes with a social one: free surf lessons for children from charities and orphanages, a collective shoreline clean-up and educational workshops during the event. Bahri has no permanent base and no surf school in Safi: it comes for the contest.

No opening hours are published. The association works through operations and events announced on its social media; the Safi Surf Invitational is held in early December at Ras Lafaa.
