Hoofer Sailing Club

The Hoofer Sailing Club, established in 1939, is a community of students and members at the University of Wisconsin-Madison dedicated to recreational and competitive sailing. Its address is the Memorial Union in Madison.

Membership includes unlimited lessons and access to one of the largest fleets in the nation, with dinghies, keelboats, windsurfing equipment and winter kiting gear (snowkiting). Members are encouraged to become instructors and take part in club leadership, which keeps dues low.

The club also runs races, social events, a youth program and a summer camp, and publishes a lesson and rating guide on its site.
