Jay Surfboards, kitesurf craftsman in Newbattle, Dalkeith

Jay Surfboards is a custom surfboard workshop in the grounds of Newbattle Abbey College in Dalkeith, Midlothian, near Edinburgh. A surfer for more than twenty-five years and a shaper for fifteen, Jay built a first board in a garden shed before opening this workshop.

To order a custom board, get in touch by email, text or phone, or book an appointment at the workshop: Jay asks about your ability, the waves you surf, the boards you have ridden and the style you want (performance or relaxed cruising) to suggest the right design.

The workshop also repairs surfboards: an approximate quote from photos, a full inspection in the workshop for the exact price, and a usual turnaround of about two weeks, with drying if the board has taken in water. Leftover resin is used to make resin artworks.
