Joe Roper's Surfboard Repair, kitesurf craftsman in San Diego

Joe Roper's Surfboard Repair is a surfboard and SUP repair workshop in San Diego. It started in the early 1970s in Pacific Beach, when Joe Roper fixed his first boards in his garage, and he became lead repairman at a shop near Crystal Pier in 1975.

Today it is a family business run by Joe and his son Jojo, with a team of about ten experienced repairers. They handle everything from a small ding to a board snapped in two or bitten by a shark.

Services include ding repair, glass jobs (sanded, tinted, gloss or polished finishes) and restorations of modern and vintage boards sought after by collectors, by appointment.

A small retail corner adds board bags, fins, leashes, wax, DIY repair supplies, tees and hats.
