About the craftsman
Mica Surfboards is the workshop of shaper Amílcar "Mica" Lourenço, who grew up at São Lourenço beach in Ericeira and started working at 15 in a Portuguese surfboard factory. A competitor on the national and European tours, he builds custom surfboards, designed and finished by hand for each surfer, in the Ericeira World Surfing Reserve.
The range includes performance models, step-ups, grovelers, eggs, mini-longs and longboards, in polyurethane or epoxy, with a choice of fins and finish. The shop, The Surfboard Shop, also sells new and used boards.
The workshop offers a repair service (all kinds of boards, epoxy, 24 h or 48 h express repairs, cleaning, polishing, painting), with pick-up and delivery around Ericeira.
