Jim's Surfboards, kitesurf craftsman in Ploemeur

Jim's Surfboards is the workshop of shaper Jean-Marie Berthe in Ploemeur, Morbihan, at 70 route de Larmor. Passionate about surfing since a young age and with a background in marine composites, he builds custom, personalised surfboards.

Everything is hand-made in the workshop, from shaping to glassing. Jean-Marie advises each surfer according to build, level and the type of waves surfed, and offers mainly retro and traditional shapes with a touch of modernity, from noserider longboards to fish and mid-lengths. The website shows several models: fish, edge bottom, "brutal" bonzer, EEG, long fish "baliste", flat tracker, pig, gavotenn, noserider, plus fins.

The workshop also offers board rental and repair. Its Google listing shows it as open 24 hours, which probably means opening hours are not filled in, so it is best to call +33 6 17 26 92 61 before visiting.
