SW/W/NW winds onshore from the west shore. Very urban setting — Amsterdam skyline visible. Popular with city dwellers who want a quick session without long drives.
Inland water — BPR rules strictly apply. Keep clear of shipping lanes. Not for offshore (east) winds. Shallow water in parts. Close to Amsterdam city centre by tram/bike.
Access by public transport (tram to IJburg) or by car. GPS: IJburg beach, Amsterdam-Oost. Stay clear of shipping lanes (IJmeer has active boat traffic). BPR rules strictly apply. Check NKV zone signage. No large beach facilities — urban setting.
Flat to choppy IJmeer water. No waves or swell. Ideal for freeride and freestyle. Foil also possible. Urban flat-water session.
