Herkingen / Grevelingenmeer is a windsurfing spot on the north shore of the Grevelingenmeer inland salt lake, in Zeeland/Zuid-Holland. The village of Herkingen is located on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee. Access is through the marina, passing through the storm surge doors built into the dyke.
⚠️ Warning: kitesurfing is officially forbidden at this spot — police control the beach regularly. For legal kitesurfing in the Grevelingenmeer area, use Grevelingendam (ID 4748) or Brouwersdam (ID 4738) instead. The spot is mainly used by windsurfers. Flat water, onshore wind from southern directions — generally solid but can be gusty. Average wind 10–20 knots.
Inland salt lake — flat to light chop, no waves or tides. Sufficient depth for sailing. Salt water, pleasant temperature in summer (15–20°C). Same water system as the Grevelingenmeer.

Follow signs to the marina from Herkingen village. Park in the village or at the waterside beyond the storm doors. Car access only. GPS: Herkingen, Goeree-Overflakkee.

Wind from southern directions often gusty (passes over terrain before reaching the water). Pleasure boats in and around the marina. Car access only.
Works mainly with south-sector wind (SSW to SSE) — onshore on this side of the lake. Wind generally solid from southerly directions (10–20 knots). North and west wind is offshore at this spot. Can be gusty and variable when wind passes over terrain before reaching the water.
