Sunrise Beach is on the east side of Koh Lipe, a small island in Satun Province in Thailand's far south Andaman Sea, near the Malaysian border. The beach faces east and picks up both the northeast monsoon (Nov-Mar) and can get some southwest monsoon exposure.
The spot suits intermediate riders. The beach is relatively short and can be busy with tourists and longtail boats. The water is crystal clear with a sandy bottom. During the NE monsoon, the east-facing beach gets direct wind exposure. Be aware of coral reefs in the area and boat traffic.
