Sethawadiya is on the northern Kalpitiya peninsula in North Western Province. The spot faces the lagoon on the east side, providing flat water conditions during the SW monsoon (May-October).

A beginner to intermediate lagoon spot. Shallow flat water with sandy bottom. No waves and no tidal influence. Close to the peninsula tip, wind can be strong and consistent. Good for freestyle and practice. Some kite operations in the area. Quieter than the central Kappalady spots.
