Pottuvil Point is a headland north of Arugam Bay on the east coast of Sri Lanka in Eastern Province. The point faces east-northeast and catches NE monsoon winds from November to April.
An intermediate to advanced spot due to the point break and currents. The headland creates interesting wave conditions for kite wave riding. Sandy and rocky bottom near the point. Currents can be strong around the point. Better suited for experienced riders. Some wave action year-round. The exposed position provides more consistent wind than sheltered bays.
