Overview

Figueira da Foz is a major beach resort city at the mouth of the Mondego river, between Porto and Lisbon. The Praia da Figueira is one of the widest beaches in Europe. NW Nortada with Atlantic waves. The river mouth creates interesting conditions — some flat areas in the estuary. Popular surf and kite destination with full town amenities, casino, and restaurants. The beach of Cabedelo (south bank of the Mondego) offers more sheltered conditions.
