Esposende River is the flatwater river mouth lagoon at Esposende, about 15 km south of Viana do Castelo. Protected by dunes where the Cávado river meets the Atlantic. Flat, shallow water — ideal for beginners. Accessible by boat from Ofir or on foot from Esposende. Compact space. Less wind than Viana but a great safe learning environment. NW Nortada thermal in summer.
