It's a beautiful spot on Lake Bienne with a view of St-Pierre Island (actually almost an island) just across. Ideal spot in bise wind. Very popular with foilers, as there are few waves and it's immediately deep. You'll also find "O'Lé restaurant" on the spot, which is a great restaurant where you'll always be warmly welcomed.
Complaints have been filed because of kitesurfers crossing the swimming area to enter the water. A launch channel exists, please use it.
Spot functioning
Launch with the help of an assistant, near the football fields, and then keep the kite at zenith. To get to the water, you need to pass between some trees and then go down some stone steps, so be careful to give priority to riders heading to the water. Under no circumstances should you enter the water through the swimming area!!
The parking lot is located right across from O'Lé restaurant, by the lake. Parking is paid (Twint / ParkingPay). To get to the spot from the parking lot, you need to walk along the football field to reach the launch area located just behind it.
Hazards
The water entry is a bit tricky... You launch on a slightly wind-shadowed lawn, then enter the water on slippery steps. The train passes right behind the spot, so if you're not confident, ask the locals or refrain from riding. Always launch your kite in the direction of the lake.
Wind specificities
The bise wind enters the lake very well, but be careful if it comes too much from the north (down from the Jura mountains) as conditions can be very gusty. The launch area is slightly wind-shadowed, so it's better to check what kite sizes are being used on the water, as the wind is often stronger once on the lake.
