This iconic Lower St. Lawrence spot offers immense tidal flats exposed at low tide, creating a unique riding area. The south shore faces north, with considerable fetch across the estuary (20+ km). The area is known for its spectacular sunsets and typical Lower St. Lawrence maritime landscape. Reference spot for kitesurfing in the estuary.
St. Lawrence estuary with significant tides (3-5m range). Vast sandy and muddy tidal flats at low tide — check schedules. Brackish to salt water, cold (10-14°C in summer), 4/3 wetsuit minimum. NE wind (nordet) creates short chop with good fetch. SW wind (suroît) is offshore from the south shore. Significant tidal currents.
