Overview

Zandmotor (ocean side) — the seaward side of the Sand Motor peninsula near Kijkduin. While the lagoon (inner side) offers flat water, the ocean side gives access to North Sea waves and open-water conditions. SW/W/NW winds are fully onshore here.

Intermediate to advanced level — be aware of underwater breakwaters (golfbrekers) and tidal currents. If the lagoon is too crowded, Rockanje and Oostvoorne are good less-busy alternatives. Summer rules strictly enforced — read signage at beach access points. NKV designated area.
