This spot looks absolutely amazing. Access is via the Unterbäch ski resort (which is included in the Magic Pass). It takes quite a while to reach the top of the resort, I think around 40 minutes.
Once you reach the top of the last chairlift, the spot is right in front of you. It's a large cirque that opens to the north and I think it could also have very nice potential in North-East winds.
You can launch your kite right next to the lift arrival or if the wind is lighter or irregular, a short 10-minute skin up to reach the upper level.
Some have tested it in westerly winds, but the wind is irregular and the spot is more limited.
More testing is needed to know how this spot works, but the fact that the base of the spot is at 2500m is a real advantage.
Resort (Ski lift access)
2441m
Open all year round
Parking in the resort center, paid but not too expensive.
We are in the mountains, even high mountains. So avalanche danger, rocks, cliffs, strong winds. Go out equipped (Shovel, probe, Arva) and don't go alone.
This chart shows the probability of Foehn in the Swiss Alpine valleys. It is based on the pressure differential between Zurich and Lugano based on the Open Meteo model (Icon-EU).
Currently, there is no weather station at this spot. If you want to change this, help us fund one: Weather Station Project
