Southampton is a coastal town on Lake Huron's east shore just north of Port Elgin. The beach faces west with excellent fetch. Southampton and Port Elgin together form the "Bruce Riviera," one of Ontario's best kitesurfing areas.
Municipal beach with parking. Beautiful sandy beach, easy launch. Southampton is slightly quieter than Port Elgin. West and northwest winds dominate in summer.

Lake Huron facing west. Freshwater, moderate to sustained chop. Sandy bottom, gradual depth. Large riding area. Lake Huron sunsets here are among Canada's most beautiful.
Popular beach in summer — cohabitation with swimmers. Shore currents in strong winds. Saugeen River mouth to the south — possible currents. Cold water in spring.
