Little Big Wood Pond is a body of water in far northern Maine at 378m elevation, near the Canadian border. This isolated lake offers a wild and preserved setting for kitesurfing in the vast forests of northern Maine. It's one of the most remote spots on the US East Coast.

Flat lake water with chop in strong winds. Freshwater. Short season due to altitude and latitude — the lake may freeze late into spring. No tide or significant current. Variable bottom.
Extreme isolation — no rescue services nearby. Cold water even in summer at this altitude. Thunderstorms — monitor weather carefully. Wildlife (bears, moose). Limited or no cell phone coverage. Never ride alone.
