Overview

Beautiful sand strip of about 35 m that extends into the lake. Navigable with both wind orientations. Picnic area nearby. Camping is prohibited.

Parking

No car access. You have to walk. Two solutions for this:
  • Parking at the end of the dead-end road at the place called "PrĂ© Lionnet". Google address: Esserts-de-Rive 34-20, Le Lieu. => Exactly 1 km walk to the spot (follow the lake towards Le Pont)
  • Parking above Le Lieu train station. Google address: Le Revers 14, Le Lieu. Dirt parking. => 900 m walk to the spot. Descent to the lake via a small steep path.

Hazards

This is a high-altitude lake and it's not always easy to accurately assess the wind strength. Conditions can also change very quickly. So it's not really a lake suitable for beginners, a minimum skill level is required.

Wind specificities

The southwest wind is much better on this spot than in the Rocheray area.
 In case of bise (northeast wind), the wind will probably be better at the 1004 altitude spot.
