Matarangi is a kitesurfing spot located on the Coromandel Peninsula, in the Waikato region, on the North Island of New Zealand. This seaside resort is on the east coast of the peninsula, facing the Pacific Ocean. The white sand beach offers a pleasant setting for kitesurfing. Dominant winds come from the northeast and north. The spot is suitable for intermediate kitesurfers. The beach offers good launching space and the waters are relatively sheltered. It is a popular spot in summer with the local holiday community.
