Overview

Salinas is a west-facing beach near Avilés, home to quick tubey waves over sand. Enjoys proper exposure to cross-Atlantic W swells — works better than most Asturias spots in summer. Extra punch at the north end (Playa de San Juan). Hollow barrels at 8-10 foot possible. Unfortunately overshadowed by the industrial sprawl of Avilés. NE summer wind is cross-offshore. Intermediate to advanced.
