San Vicente de la Barquera — charming fishing town with 4 km of beach (Playa de Merón) east of the estuary. Consistent beach break, sandy bottom. NE summer thermal (anticyclonic days) but intensity drops compared to other spots. W-NW winter storms bring powerful swell and current. Camping behind the dunes. Great town for surf camps. Near Picos de Europa national park.
