Small seaside town with good amenities. Located between Scheveningen and Noordwijk — good option when those spots are crowded. Year-round access. Known for sailing culture (Katwijk is a traditional fishing village). Also nearby: the Savornin Lohmanpad (ID 15671) and Zandmotor alternatives.

Strong North Sea currents at certain tides. Waves depending on wind strength. NKV zone rules apply. Wetsuit required. Groynes (breakwaters) in the water area. Busy in summer. No kiting in swimming zones.
SW/W/NW/N/NE onshore. Wind typically 15–25 knots in good season. Year-round accessible. Best months: March–May and September–November. Conditions similar to Scheveningen but slightly less crowded.
