Bergen aan Zee is a North Sea kitesurf spot north of Castricum, within the Hollands Dune nature reserve — home to the highest and widest dune system on the Dutch coast. Wide beach with good space. Two NKV kite zones: north and south of Bergen aan Zee. Year-round accessible.
SW/W/NW onshore. Intermediate level. The village of Bergen aan Zee is known as an artists' community (De Bergense School). Well-placed between Wijk aan Zee (south) and Paal 6/Callantsoog (north) — good central base for Noord-Holland coast touring. Beach pavilions and restaurants available.
Two zones (north and south). Navigate to Parkweg 33, Bergen aan Zee for south zone access. Paid parking, then walk through dune reserve. Year-round open. GPS: Bergen aan Zee, Noord-Holland.
North Sea — light to medium waves in W/NW. Choppy. Large tidal range. Currents. Cold year-round: 3/2mm summer, 5/4mm winter.

SW/W/NW/N/NE onshore. SW dominant (strongest Oct–March). Beautiful consistent conditions when wind comes from W/NW. Less crowded than Wijk aan Zee. Year-round viable.
