PK 55 is a beach spot exactly 55 km north of Nouakchott, Mauritania's capital, then 10 minutes down a dirt track. The beach extends for 750 km along the entire Mauritanian coastline — endless space.
Water generally quite flat, occasionally choppy. Occasional jellyfish swarms in June-July. Clean beach but spiky plants washed up frequently. Very remote — nothing around, zero nightlife. Pure adventure kite in the Saharan setting.
