Overview

Ideal with North wind (meteorological wind) or on nice summer days with no announced wind (Thermal wind that establishes around 1pm until 6pm between 8 and 12 knots "oscillating"). 
Perfect lake for Kitefoil practice with Side wind and immediate depth. More turbulent wind if there's a NE or NW wind trend. A second Kite zone (South beach) allows less experienced riders to "go downwind" and return via a path (kite folded under the arm) to the North beach launch area. 
With South wind, navigation is much more "Rodeo" with a sheltered launch and "water hammer" wind effects, it is advised to be experienced to ride the lake with South wind and not to keep your kite at zenith on the beach (Mixed grass/pebble beach).

Local association recommendations
North beach launch/landing area managed by the Onekite association (Official site tenant). 
All kitesurf practitioners are welcome on this site provided they have civil liability insurance for Kitesurf practice (FFVL license would be ideal), respect navigation and courtesy rules, and do not endanger other riders or observers. 
Onekite association members reserve the right to exclude any rider/person who deviates from these fundamental principles of cohabitation. Fairly narrow lake with a high density of users (Windsurfers, Boats, Paddles, Sailboats, priority tour boats). Be sure to respect priority rules and remain courteous with other lake users.

The spot does not have specific supervision: autonomous practice required.
The 300m² launch area is rented by the local ONEKITE club. You will find small ballast bags for your kite, grass for rigging, and advice from locals if needed.

Paid parking in immediate proximity.
Attention, overnight sleeping is prohibited in this parking lot. Vans and campervans are invited to park at La Salette.

Wind specificities
Ideal with North wind (meteorological wind) or on nice summer days with no announced wind (Thermal wind from the North that establishes around 1pm until 6pm between 8 and 12 knots "oscillating"). More turbulent wind if there's a NE or NW wind trend. The North trend Meteorological wind is generally Boosted by the thermal wind (which is always North). With South wind, navigation is much more "Rodeo" with a sheltered launch and "water hammer" wind effects, changing from 15 to 25 knots in 2 seconds....
 
Due to the very close relief, the wind 25m high is not the same as on the ground. It can present serious turbulence, especially near the shores. 
Beginners: favor starting in open water with a school. 
Hazards
Fairly small beach with a rather dense number of riders. Presence of spectators, trees, and children's play areas nearby. Presence of a boat dock and boarding pier immediately downwind (with North wind). Two Kitesurf schools are present on site giving lessons in open water (students depart directly from the school boat). Remember to book your lessons well in advance (schedule is generally busy).
