Lake Buchanan is the largest lake in the Highland Lakes chain on the Colorado River, in the Texas Hill Country. This vast 22,300-acre reservoir offers immense water expanses and exceptional fetch for kitesurfing. Located about 60 miles northwest of Austin, the lake is surrounded by granite hills and ranchlands.
